I live in Belgium, Europe and personally I have feeling that if you mention the Bards as one of your favorite bands, people act as if your from another planet.

Still I see people from other countries, mostly European, here. I know I'm not the only Belgian Nagian and I have a feeling to get the Bards promoted in Europe, we need strength in numbers.

I think we must get organized in a certain way. Marc and Andrew can not do it all by themselves.

Their vacation tour in Ireland was a briljant idea, but it is quite costly and we can not all afford to go along. At the end this will cost the Bards more then they might earn from it.

Still there are many festivals and events in Europe, that might have the possibility to book the Bards, but they won't if they don't know them.

So I think we must go knocking doors. If big event organizers and concert promotors just receive 1 or a couple of mails from fans advizing them to book the Bards, they will probably not be interested, but if many start asking, they might want to do business.

My idea on promoting:

1) buy CD's or mp3s and tell others about their music.

2) buy T-shirts and wear them in crowds.

3) post reviews

4) get on local message boards and mention them in topics like "listening to"

5) post links to their website

I've been discussing with Marc for translating the website in other languages. This might make the Bards more open for people who do not know English that well, or who or simply to lazy to google beyond pages in their own language.

My native language is Dutch and I do not mind translating things for them, but if you know languages like French, German, Spanish or whatever ... The more people that can read the site, the more people you can reach.

Yes, the music is in English, but I for example listen also to songs in languages I do not know and love.

No, you can not force people to like the Bards and to buy their music, but people can't like them and will not buy their music, if they don't know them.

Well, if you got Irish pubs in your neighborhood, make some posters for the Irish and Celtic Music Podcast and ask if you can put them up there.
