The Austin Celtic Festival is a two-day celebration
of Celtic music, dance and culture in the heart of Austin, Texas. Austin
music is reknowned worldwide as being the best. This is by no means an
exaggeration in the Celtic community as well. All kinds of Celtic entertainment
from Irish dance to Irish music, Scottish bagpipes to Scottish song and
dance.
Austin's own Brobdingnagian Bards are not just one of the most-popular Celtic music groups online, having given away well-over five million MP3s, but they are also the only Celtic group in Austin to ever win TWO Austin Music Awards. And they were the first Celtic group to ever win in the AMAs which led the way for The Tea Merchants to do the same.
Plus, the Brobdingnagian Bards are best-selling Celtic artists with two albums that hit #1 on CD Baby, largest independent music store in the world. Finally, Marc Gunn's bi-weekly Irish & Celtic Music Podcast, continues to top the Top 20 Music Podcasts on iTunes with over 30,000 listeners to each show.
In 2001, the Brobdingnagian Bards performed at the Austin Celtic Festival joining such incredible performers as The
Rogues, Widening
Gyre, Tudor Tarts,
Jiggernaut, Spot, Poor Man's Fortune, Pam Keightly, Pubcrawler, Silver
Thistle Pipes & Drums, and us.
The event is put on
every year by the Austin
Celtic Association.
