First, let me apologize that this didn't get up sooner. The server has been down. Actually, I'm writing while it's still down. But thanks for your patience.
FYI. SXSW has given us a wee little Brobdingnagian Bards page with Virgins to download. You're welcome to drop by review us, see when we're playing at SXSW, listen and gaze longingly at the same photo that's on our other pages... You know, we need some more promo photos, huh? Hopefully, we'll get a Renaissance Faire promo photo at Excalibur in just under two weeks.

Our friend C. Wayne Owens, aka Seymour is now on MP3.com. Seymour is an incredible comedian we first met in Missouri in 2000. You might have seen him on Comedy Central or heard his music on Dr. Demento. He has several albums of music, including a Renaissance Faire album entitled Seymoure Says based on the popular game stolen by his brother Simon. Right now, the albums are not yet up, but there are several downloadable MP3s from The Pudding Song to Once Upon A Time; the popular Invocation which Rennies will love; plus, Rip Jarvis and the Space Cadets radio series, and plenty more. Go listen and download. You sure to come away laughing!

Last night was very busy and heckuva lot of fun. I started it off by joining Donnelle MacKaskle in the KOOP studio to record a commercial for the Saint Patrick's Day Fiesta that we'll be performing at during the early afternoon. She wanted a cliche Irish action...aka Lucky Charms. So I did it. Gosh, I used to love that cereal! It was my first commercial. I'm gonna try and get a copy to upload so you can hear it.
After that, Andrew and I went over to KNVA-TV 54 studios to record some more. KNVA is putting together a special program to highlight SXSW performers. Brad Hubbert is putting together an extremely multi-cultural program, but I don't think he realized what he was in for with us. Let's just say, he laughed a whole lot! He especially got a kick out of the Bard Movie idea... ;)
The program will aire on Wednesday, March 13th if you're in Austin... Yeah, it's at the same time as our show, as are the Austin Music Awards. But that's okay, you can tape it. We will!

Whew! Seems like there've been quite a few crickets here recently. Sorry, for disappearing. Last night, Andrew and I finished mixing Songs of Ireland. Tonight, we'll start mastering it and hopefully have the album completed by the end of the week. Then we get to figure out when we release it. But so far it sounds fantastic. This album will feature 19 or 20 traditional Irish songs, including some new arrangements of some older songs that sound better than ever. It also features some of our most-popular songs that we perform live, including: Raitlin' Bog and The Unicorn Song.
Right now, we're planning the intial release to be exclusive to MP3.com, at least until we can raise the money to fund mass-production. You can help out by being an angel donating some money to the cause.
On another note, I was thrilled to learn that BMI songs are now available on MP3.com. This means you can now listen to one of our most-popular songs, Frog Kissin'. Frog Kissin' is a song by Buddy Kalb, but was first performed by the late, great, guitar virtuoso, Chet Atkins. Our arrangement is Completely different from Chet's, but it is wonderful addition to our popular filks. Right now, it's not downloadable, but it will be. You will have to wait until the next edition of the Bard Crier. Or you can order a copy of A Celtic Renaissance Wedding for just $7.98. It was also originally released on this month's CD of the Month, Gullible's Travels.

Studio has gone great. All songs are recorded. We'll be mastering some this weekend and finish mixing next week. Right now, I think the total count of recorded songs is 20. Unfortunately, I don't think all of the songs will fit on Songs of Ireland. So we'll have to do some trimming, methinks and save the rest for Volume 2.
Also, Andrew brought the video camera into the studio this past weekend. The result is a short Windows Media File that you can watch and download.

Wow, it's been one helluva day. Andrew and I've been in the studio all day recording Songs of Ireland. We laid 12 songs today. Plus have another six we worked on last summer. We should have a total of about 20 songs by completion. And we're gonna have one amazing CD Release Party too. Why? Because we'll be releasing the CD at South By Southwest.
What's that? Well SXSW is one of the largest and first big music conferences in the United States. About 900 bands are selected every year, and during the middle of March, people fly in from all of the world to see who the hottest new bands are. Record labels, magazine and news reporters, television stations... Let's just there's an enormous amount of publicity for this festival, and it is an amazing opportunity for us!
But we're gonna need a LOT of help. Over the next month, we need to saturate the market with our name. We want to have the Biggest Buzz of all the bands at SXSW. I can't begin to tell you how much promo help we need. We'd also like to invite you out on Wednesday, March 13th at B.D. Riley's to see us play. It doesn't matter where you are in the world, your help is extremely welcome. Please email me if you would like to lend a helping hand.

Now this is just too cool. Want to a new car...for free? There's a company called FreeCar Media that is literally giving away cars to people. What's the catch? Each car is wrapped in advertisements. So you might get chance to drive a car around advertising IHOP or Taco Bell, and the only thing it'll cost you is maintainence. Course there's also a 70,000 person waiting list for cars, but the opportunity is new and growing. So signup.
And there is another option if you already have a car. FreeCar Media and Autowraps.com will wrap your current car with ads. In return, you could earn up to $400 per month with FreeCar Media and $100-$3200 with Autowraps.com. Definitely something to check out.

Attention Rennies. I just got word that Seymour has a new Sci-Fi book out called Infinity Express. Seymour is the genius Ren Faire comic who wrote The Pudding Song and who was the Original inventor of Seymour Says...at least until his brother Simon stole the act from him.
Seymour is an amazing writer, performer, you name it. So go get this book! Find out more about him here.

Free Exclusive MP3 of the Month: Norwegian WoodBack in 2000, we recorded Gullible's Travels and quite a few potential songs for the album. This was one I liked, but Andrew didn't think was good enough for the final album. Little did we know it would go under several revisions in any case. But Norwegian Wood by the Beatles was scratched from the album to never resurface again...until now.
If you would like a copy of these great song performed by the Brobdingnagian Bards, it's yours. All we ask is that you place a tip in the tip bucket.
Also, I uploaded my latest mp3 to a new site called Indieheaven, and also to Amazon.com (looks like the Amazon page will take a few days). Or you can just listen to it at my mp3.com artist page.
The song is called, The Braes O' Killiecrankie. It's a rousing Scottish song about the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689. The first three verses and chorus were written by Robert Burns in 1789. You can read more about the battle here.
