Central Texas Gets a Real Irish Pub

This weekend, we had the first of what hope will be many performances at the Irish Dragoon Pub in Killeen, Texas. My hat goes off to the pub's owner, George Shott. He's done an incredible job at putting together a pub that is more than just drinking.

I'm not knocking some of Austin's own pubs, but there's something extra special this pub. George has gone out of his way to educate Killeen about what pubs are about in Ireland--family. That in itself sets the Irish Dragoon apart from probably 90% of the Irish pubs in Texas. George is dedicated to making it a place where parents can enjoy great Irish food, music, AND they can bring their kids.

So it was our pleasure to be the second band to perform there last Friday and Saturday night. We put on a couple fun shows and left feeling great about the pub and an extremely attentive waitstaff. It's only about an hour away from Austin, and well worth the trip. We're hoping to be back there a few more times this summer, so stay tuned to the gig calendar for our next show.
