Austin Songwriter's announce new webpage
For sixteen years, the Austin Songwriter's Group has been helping to promote Austin songwriter's. A couple years ago, I was a member and will be again next month. The group is filled with some incredible writers and musicians, and I've been a huge fan of recently-elected president, Ande Rasmussen's newsletter "Daily Inspiration for Songwriters" for a while.

If you write music and live in Austin, or heck, if ye just like well-written songs, the Austin Songwriter's Group is definitely an organization you should check out.

Memories of Middle Earth Kicks into High Gear
This weekend was incredibly productive. I recorded five new songs for the Middle Earth CD, and Andrew started laying tracks for two of them. The plan is to have the album completed by the beginning of February so we can send it to press and have it out by March in time for a mess of festivals and conventions. Thank you all for your patience, and if you've been waiting for an opportunity to purchase the CD, now's a great time to get a copy of our Tribute to JRR Tolkien's Lord of the Rings entitled, Memories of Middle Earth.
Sake at Sixth gig change
If you came out to see us at Sake on Sixth last Friday, my apologies. The venue double booked and consequently, we were unable to play. So we've moved the gig dates to avoid future problems. You can now find us there on Wednesdays through January.

Return to the South Mall... Again...
This Friday, weather permitting, you can find us out on the South Mall of UT at a bit after 12:30pm for another lunch-time performance as we've done so many times in the past. We're hoping to do a wee bit o'promotion for Sake on Sixth performance that evening. So come on out and tell me if you'd like to help pass out business cards with Sake show dates.

Austin Celtic Association Presents...
The Austin Celtic Association is back with a vengeance with an all-star
Austin Celtic showcase at the Cactus Cafe on January 22nd. The "Winter Celtic Fest" will feature Irish sensation CLUAN, one of the top Irish bands in the Southwest. POOR MAN'S FORTUNE will be on hand with their pan-Celtic sound, and if you're already missing Clandestine, piper E.J. JONES will do a set of original and traditional tunes.

Also, make sure you check out Ed Miller at the Cactus Cafe on January 17th. Ed Miller came straight out of the Scottish Folk Revival of the '60's and is filled with wonderful stories and song!

And if you haven't already, head over to the Austin Celtic Association website to join the organization and support Celtic music in Austin!
