Return to the Hamlet of Mid-Missouri Renaissance Festival

Yes, we ARE confirmed for the Hamlet of Mid-Missouri Renaissance Festival. I lost track of how many years we've performed there. Was it 2000 when we started playing there?

It's been a while. I'm looking forward to seeing some great friends including, Queen's Gambit, Nancy Daily Green, Mother Pockets and Seymoure. Plus, there's to be a killer Highland Games this year. It will be a blast, so join us at this great wee Renaissance festival in the heart of Missouri.

Oh! And I'm pretty sure we will have our annual Nagian Gathering on Sunday evening. Just have to check my work schedule. (just one month and 10 days to go!)

Labels: ,

Star Wars 3: Revenge of the Sith Austin Campout in Review

Last night, we went to a Star Wars campout at Galaxy Highland 10. It was a fun, but tiring evening. We arrived around 9pm wearing kilts. KVRX, the UT student radio station, had a wee both there, though it was quite humbled by 96.7's setup. Plus, News 8 Austin.

Unfortunately, it was a bit disorganized. So we didn't really figure out when we would get to perform. So when a garage band started playing, we decided to go play a wee bit for Star Wars fans in line. The "Jedi Drinking Song" was a hit as expected, both for a few of our fans who were in line and newbies to our music.

We also got stopped, I think, by the Austin Music Network, who recorded "Jedi" as well. They loved it too.

After that, we headed back to find the garage band had stopped, but it was due to the many reporters out there. After about an hour of waiting, we decided to just play "Jedi" once more and head home since I had to work today.

Speaking of which, there was a fluke. Andrew told me we were flying out today. So I had to take off this afternoon. He made a mistake. We fly out tomorrow. And since I don't feel like working... Episode 3 is just a few hours away! :)

OH! And I got to hear the final version of Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales (which features "Jedi Drinking Song). Prrrr. The title is Very fitting for the music, that's for sure. It has a fun and romantic new feel to it. I'm really starting to get excited about releasing this. yay!

Star Wars Campout 3: Revenge of the Dorks

I guess I should give more facts, huh? As you may well know, Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith hits the theatres tomorrow at midnight. If you remember my LJ Post More Fun than Jawas in a Trash Compactor, you might remember we were fortunate enough to perform on a show that adores Star Wars as much as we do.

The host Brian Ledden is holding a 24-hour Star Wars Campout at Galaxy Highland 10 theatre here in Austin, over by Highland Mall. We're gonna show up on Wednesday night to add a little music to the mix. It's short, just 10-15 minutes or so, but with any luck, we'll also get to be a part of the reading of Star Wars: A New Hope.

So don your Jedi or Storm Trooper attire... hmm, speaking of which, what am I gonna wear? erggh... And come have a Geek-gasm with us.

A New Hope reading begins at 7pm. We'll perform sometime around 9pm. The movie release is at midnight.

#4 Celtic Music Group on Yahoo!

I was looking a the Celtic music directory on Yahoo. It was sorted by "popularity" and the Brobdingnagian Bards are listed as the #4 most-popular band there.

Is that right?! Too cool!

Thank you all!
