Interview with Castle Radio

I don't know how they found us, but a few months back we were the featured artists on Hot New Music Stars do to our tremendous success on Castle Radio, an internet radio program broadcasting great independent New Music 24 hours a day via Live365.

And who's gonna complain. I need stop by and listen. I see a bunch of great Celtic music featured on the site.

Today, while preparing to record for my cat CD, I got a phone call from Tanis, the WebJay of Castle Radio. We had a wonderful 20 minute interview talking about our latest CD, Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales. We talked about the CD rocketing up the chart to #3 on the Top Sellers list of CDBaby and our current recording plans for Real Men Wear Kilts, our next CD.

Andrew and I laid the first track for Real Men Wear Kilts. It sounds awesome. I was talking to Andrew that we should make a couple tracks available for those who buy Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales.

I told you about that CD right? Well, more specifically, that there are a lot of great free bonuses you get when you buy the CD. Look on the inside cover of the CD jacket. There you'll see a URL, logon ID, and password. You'll find notes and comments about the songs, deleted tracks, outtakes, a live track, plus eighteen songs by some awesome bands whose music I enjoy.

Just buy the CD and you can get connected on this great music. Order by the end of the month, and you'll save $4 on the regular gig price of $15. Order 2 or more and it will only cost you the price of ONE CD. That means you can order Christmas presents early... or coasters right now.

#3 Top Seller on CDBaby

Well, despite the fact that we sold out of CDs in 28 hours. We are topping the charts on CDBaby nonetheless. Right now, we are listed as #3 on their Top 20 CDs for this week. Once more CDs arrive tomorrow, mayhaps we can push that all the way to #1.

HUGE Thank you to everyone who helped!!!

Those who haven't yet. There'll be time. Either late tomorrow or on Friday, CDs will be listed on CDbaby again. With more CDs arriving on Monday. :)

Thanks!

Thank You! with a Big DOH!

Wow! I just got an email from CDBaby. The first one hundred signed copies of Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales are all sold out. Which is bad, now that I think about it because it means I need to get them more CDs ASAP if we're still to be a #1 seller.

I boxed up a hundred CDs and put them in the mail today, but I don't think they'll arrive until Monday. So I guess tomorrow morning, I'll overnight CDs to CDBaby. So we can continue selling CDs. Keep an eye open and drop your name in their email list so you can order your copies as soon as the new CDs arrive.

I am hoping this won't affect our CD hitting #1. If you're still anxious to help us out in this, just keep an eye on your email.

Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales CD Release Party Bonanza

It's been a busy weekend. Friday, I left work for the last time and was giddy with excitement. I drove us all the way to College Station with no complaints. Since Andrew usually drives that was a big change. Course, it also helped that Andrew spent the trip ripping open CD packaging to sign 100 copies of Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales.

Yes, the new CD is finished, and the first ONE HUNDRED COPIES SOLD on CDBABY will be signed by the two of us. I am hoping that the CDs will be ready to be available for sale there in a week or two. Cross your fingers!

Celtic Core Radio

The live show on Celtic Core Radio was a blast. We had a nice number of loyal Nagians out there. These folks must be the loudest of Nagians. When they shout, "MacIntyre!" I have to plug my ears.

The show was a blast, and I got to sleep on the way back. So everything was great, except Andrew left his tuner there. hehe! The host, Tom Schwerdt, put it in the mail today though.

Irish Dragoon Pub CD Release Party

I love CD release parties. Nagians come out in droves... and from around the country too. Saturday evening we had two such troopers. One from Oklahoma, and a family that drove 30 hours... with kids... from IDAHO! I felt like the Grateful Dead.

The Irish Dragoon Pub is an exceptional music venue. The audience is extremely enthusiastic about our music. And George Schott is amazing about promoting us to his clients. Consequently, we had a full house of dedicated Nagians like those from Idaho and Oklahoma. It was a raucous, fun show.

Shoot. I just noticed that the Star Wars Fans met there earlier that day... If I'd only known...

Things Celtic In-Store CD Release

By Sunday, I was starting to feel a bit worn down. But we made it to Austin's Celtic gift-giving center, Things Celtic. I never realized just what a great venue that place can be. We were setup in a corner and played inside the shop. The music perfectly filled the entire store and brought Irish smiles to everyone there.

These Aren't the Droids You Are Looking For

Tonight, we just got back from an always too short show at KVRX studios on the University of Texas campus. It was actually kinda weird driving back on campus today. Lots o'memories flooded back as this university often does to me.

We played "Angel's Lament" for the Star Wars fans, and they spun our recording of "Jedi Drinking Song" (download it. The two hosts, Andrew and I joined our collective efforts to create the sound Chewbacca. Then I got to play Yoda in their weekly reading from the Star Wars saga.

One more CD release to go--the Cactus Cafe

Wouldn't you know I forgot to mention the CD release party at the Cactus Cafe tomorrow night. Well, with any luck, Nagians will come out in droves, and we'll pack the place. One can only hope.

Please do us a favor and tell your family and friends to come join us at the biggest event since "Han Shot First".

See ye there!

Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales Arrives from Printers

Whew! I was worried, but Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales arrived from the printers today. CDs are now off to CDBaby. We'll see how quickly they get the CD into the system. I am hoping to have it released online on July 18th.

If you hadn't heard, we are doing a big CD promotion here to make Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales #1 on CDbaby. We need your help by ordering it online at CDBaby as soon as it is available. Just keep an eye on this website for details.

Thanks!

The Unicorn Song Music Video + Free License

Over the past couple o'months, I've watched more and more fan films. TheForce.net is an outstanding website for those films. I keep looking forward to some folks doing some videos using our music.

Thusfar, only one was done to "Angel's Lament" a few years ago. Though I wish they'd redo that one with the new performance of the song, because the old one was rough at best.

Happily, Bradford L. Lewis decided to do one using "The Unicorn Song", and it's quite lovely to watch.

Hmm... Maybe to inspire more such videos we should hold a contest and invite fans to do a music video with Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales. Who knows what masterpieces await us?!

I'll have to brainstorm what someone could win. Meantime, I invite you all to create music videos with our music. We grant you free permission to make such videos as long as it's not-for-profit. Just have fun with the music. I'd love to see what you create.
