Jedi Drinking Song on Dr Demento

I found out that "Jedi Drinking Song" made it onto Dr Demento last weekend. That means, it is at least eligible for the "Funny Five" (I think that's how that works).

That means, we need your votes.
Pretty please?
With cheese?
And a lightsaber on top?

Just head over to http://drdemento.com/ to make a request.

THANK YOU!

New Kilt

Well, I finally decided to take the plunge and order a new kilt from Things Celtic. I've needed to do it for years now since I stole my dad's several years ago and he's been kind enough to not ask for it back.

I decided to order the Casual Kilt which is a little less expensive, but I'm gonna have to get a formal one at some point. Thought this might make a nice addition. Only problem... It's gonna take 10 weeks. :(

Ah well, I still have one. Just needs a wee bit o'maintenance. :)

Sad News - Irish Dragoon Pub Closes

I just got the horrible news. Our favorite pub, located in Killeen, Texas, is no more. The Irish Dragoon Pub closed up its doors.

That just kills me. George Schott did an amazing thing to create an authentic Irish pub that you could take your family to. It had a great atmosphere and the friendship will be sorely missed.

I am truly saddened by this news. At least they pub will forever be remembered in our recording of "Old Dun Cow" on Brobdingnagian Fairy Tales. I wish George and all at the pub the absolute best.

Loch Lomond and Follow Prince Charlie

Another good day in the studio. We recorded autoharp tracks for "The Banks o' Loch Lomond" and "Follow Prince Charlie" on Sunday. Didn't quite make it to the vocals. We're being a little bit more particular with the recording since we have plenty of time for it. It's no big rush. Hopefully, tomorrow we'll add vocals.

Scots CD Recording Continued

Andrew and I are back in the studio recording to our heart's content. We are working on our Scottish CD, Real Men Wear Kilts. We've planned this CD for a couple o'years now and finally have time to work on it.

The first songs we recorded was our version of the Scottish song Donald, Where's Your Trousers?. I say our version, because as any Scots person knows it's pronounced "troosers" and not "trousers". Well, we're Americans, so we sing "trousers". My apologies to the Scots.

We also recorded an original song, When She Held Me in Her Arms. We first recorded that song for "Gullible's Travels", but I felt the performance was way too fast so we didn't use it for that CD. However, we did add it to our wedding CD after we released it on MP3.com. The album went over so well I figured I'd leave it there, but I still want a good version of the song. So we're re-recording it.
