Andrew Answers the Questions He's Seen

Thanks to everyone for the concern and support. As for the future, who knows. Many things prompted this, too many to even try to mention, but this wasn't one of those "we had a fight at DragonCon moments." This was a natural evolution of events and although many of you are surprised by the suddenness of it, it was not arrived at without a great deal of thought and discussion.

As for me, I do have a lot of projects going. As some of you have noted, Marc has been doing a lot of solo things for a while and to be honest, I do feel like I have to play catch up a bit. I have also let Marc be the front man online and I realize now that was a mistake on my part. The good news for you is that now I am going to be very vocal so you will hear a lot from me.

Firstly, I had to put my solo CD on hold a bit so that I could finish "Real Men Wear Kilts" in the studio. I finished it the Sunday before DragonCon and the first run was delivered to the Hotel at DragonCon. That cut it close but I worked hard to finish it and make it of a quality you all deserve. I do the mixing, mastering, and general sound engineering so I do all of that work myself. My solo CD is back on and it is coming along. I think you are going to like it as I will make sure it is of the highest quality and the most value for all of you. That means lots of tracks to sing along to. I've always had a theory that a CD holds at least 74 minutes of Audio. If you don't get close to that, you are just wasting space.

Second, I am starting a new group with Michelle Hedden, a drummer who was going to be the third bard 5 years ago or so but unfortunately, it didn't work out geographically at that time. I am very excited about working with her and what we've worked on so far I think you are going to really like.

Third, I'll have the new groups MySpace page up in a couple of days so look out for that. I'll also try to have the band website up by the end of the month. That's more difficult but I think you'll like it when it is done.

Fourth, I am also starting a production company representing Ren Faire groups. In the last 10 years, I've learned a lot from the bards. The big thing is if I knew what I know now back when we started, we would have gotten to where we are in a couple of years. I would like to help new bands follow the right path, not just to success but the right path for them. I'll update you on that soon as well.

Thanks again and I'll be in touch online,

Andrew McKee

...I think I'm going to cry. I couldn't make it to any of your shows this year... And then you came to Dallas the day after I moved to Japan. And now the Bards are going their separate ways... If I had the money, I'd be booking a flight to the States right now to see one last show.

That being said, I wish the best of luck to both of you. I'll definitely follow your individual pursuits.

(Anyone want to start a Ship Allee to the States for One Last Concert with her Favorite Band of All Time Fund?)

Let me know whenever you'd like to perform out in the garden, CD release parties are always welcome here. I wish you both the best of luck on your new ventures.

As long as you two stay friends and make music, it matters not where you go but where you have been.

And that it is, and always will be, in the heart of all of your Bards fans!

The family and I love you both, and we will miss you at OKRF 2009.

I hope that your dreams and desires for your life are fulfilled and running over.

I hope your new band will come see us at OKRF.

Hugs, kisses and lots of goofiness,
Chemen and group.

I just can say that even if I am a bit disappointed by these news, I look forward for the projects of Andrew (and with a lot of excitation!).

I always think Andrew shows himself not enough on the net ! I think I will follow events with attention in the near future...

And I still hope to see one of those two "soon-no more-Bards" on a show in France, or even on vacation (why not? my country is the most beautiful after all...), one day... yes, I already know I'm dreaming! lmao

Salut ą tous!
The little French half-Nagian Charlotte...

I wish you both well on the roads that you will travel, and will continue to be a fan in all of your new adventures.
That said, I do harbor hope in my heart that you will briefly reunite each year at DragonCon. It would not be the same without you.

I first met the Bards at ORC 2007 and just recently had the great good fortune to see you at ALEP. Your music is amazing; traditional, contemporary, light-hearted, deeply intense, in short the most marvelous blend one could hope for and a delight for all.

My very best wishes for the future go with you both, along with my very deep gratitude for what has passed.

I'm glad to see that you parted amicably. I admit, I'll miss laughing with you when I attend LARF in a couple of Saturdays, but at least I will be able to chat with Marc. Be well. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall soft upon your fields.

Until we meet again,
Len.

I've loved the Bard's music for years and just was listening to Rattling Bog for about the 1000'th time this weekend. I'm so glad I caught you at things Celtic last year. Good luck in the future, though. You and Marc deserve great things for bringing such great joy to (I hope) so many :-)
