The Brobdingnagian Bards have been amazed and gratified by the outpouring of love and support from their fans over the last 10 years. Marc Gunn and Andrew McKee have had the good fortune to meet interesting people, see new places, and, most importantly, have fun every step of the way throughout their journey together. After much soul searching, the time has come for them to follow their own artistic pursuits for a while.
Bard CDs and Merchandise will still be available for purchase through www.thebards.net and all of the valuable information will still be available. Information on Marc and Andrew's individual projects will be listed on the site and newsletter so please stay tuned for updates.
The Bards greatly appreciate your continued interest in their music and look forward to sharing their music with you for years to come. Thanks again to all of you for your support.
Note: This will not affect any of our shows for the rest of the year.

While it breaks my heart to see you guys split, I can't wait to see what you come up with individually. Hopefully this will not be the end of the bards as we know and love them, just a break.
Oh no!!! unlucky me, my project was to come to USA in the next 3 years to see the Bards live (a long journey from France!)...
I think I can just hope the two of our dear Bards keep their great inspiration! And the most important thing is that they carry on enjoying what they do.
But as Kat said, it breaks my heart too...
(sorry for the possible spelling mistakes!)
Sorry. Though I'm still hoping on heading to France one day and maybe do some gigs too. So with any luck I'll see ye on your home turf.
:)
How lucky I was that I got to see you at D*C and finally had the nerve to request a song! I will keep my fingers crossed that one of you shows up to D*C in 2009. Any chance you will do the tour of Ireland again? Good luck to you both in all your future endeavours.
My dear friends, all I can say is that there are no happy endings, because nothing ever ends. All of life is transition. My the change continue to be growth and may we ever been comrades on this road.
And that was Wayne as in Seymoure, just in case you didn't know.
I am still hoping to do some more group visits abroad, but I don't think it'll be the Bards doing it.
Perhaps the time apart will only serve to create bigger & better
collaborations in the future!
Well, it's been a run of awesomeness! I wish you both the best of luck on your individual pursuits!
Let me know whenever you'd like to perform out in the garden. I wish you both the best of luck on your new ventures.

it was wonderful to experience the magic of The Bards performing live on their summer tour in Ireland. The news of this split seems to come before they have really got started yet (but its been 10 years). However, Marc is a passionate bard and Andrew is an incredible entertainer and so we'll now have twice the fun.
When I told my 9 year old daughter that you were going your separate ways, she yelled
no, they can't do that!
... she said what I'm too grown up to say. I also really do wish you both all the best and look forward to your new music, and maybe, one day, seeing you perform wherever you land.
Thank you Kerrie. I appreciate it. Just tell your daughter we won't stop doing music. We're just working on new and exciting things. :)
Yeah it is sad to see you guys go your separate ways. Though I am happy that you two will be happy and have fun with what you will both be doing. Im just sad I didnt get to see you guys perform, me being in Australia and all. :)
Oh well, lobg live your music!
And have a great time Marc and Andrew. :)
Take care,
Sherry
